Clinical Scalp Analysis & Hair Loss Support

Serving clients in Dartmouth, Halifax, and surrounding Nova Scotia communities.
What is Trichology?
Trichology is the clinical study of the scalp and hair. At Ultra Hair, we use trichology to assess concerns such as hair thinning, excessive shedding, scalp irritation, buildup, oil imbalance, and changes in hair quality.
Our approach is focused on identifying what is happening at the scalp level and building a treatment plan based on your specific findings.

Scalp health plays a major role in hair quality, density, and growth potential. Oil imbalance, inflammation, buildup, and barrier disruption can all affect how the hair follicle functions.
By addressing the scalp environment first, we can better support healthier hair growth, improve comfort, and create a stronger foundation for any restorative plan.

No two scalps are the same. Every trichology appointment is guided by what we see during your analysis and what your scalp requires.
Your assessment may include:

-
scalp imaging and close-up analysis
-
evaluation of oiliness, dryness, buildup, and irritation
-
review of shedding patterns and hair changes
-
discussion of your history, concerns, and goals
From there, we create a personalized in-clinic and home-care plan based on your scalp’s condition.

Treatment is based on your analysis findings and tailored to your scalp’s needs. Depending on the condition of the scalp, your care plan may include targeted cleansing, exfoliation, hydration support, scalp-soothing protocols, follicle-focused topicals, and LED light therapy.

Rather than offering one standard treatment for everyone, we customize each protocol to support scalp balance, hair quality, and long-term progress.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a consultation before treatment?
Yes. Every new trichology client begins with a scalp analysis and consultation so treatment can be based on your specific findings.

Is this a relaxation or spa treatment?
No. Our trichology services are clinical scalp treatments focused on scalp health, hair loss support, and correcting imbalances that may affect hair quality and growth.

How do I know which treatment I need?
You do not need to choose one yourself. We assess your scalp first and personalize the treatment plan based on what we see.

Will I need more than one appointment?
Often, yes. Many scalp and hair concerns improve best with a series of treatments and a consistent home-care plan.

Can this help with hair loss?
Trichology can support many common causes of shedding, thinning, and scalp imbalance. Your appointment helps determine what may be contributing and what the most appropriate next step is.

Do you offer LED light therapy?
Yes. LED light therapy may be included as part of a personalized treatment plan when appropriate.
